Our largest projects are:
Education: We've completed the second level of a school - the Rob Marchand Institute. We currently have students in grades 1-5, with the goal of adding one grade level a year until we have grades 1-8. We have also distributed pens, pencils, notebooks to 2,000 local students each fall.
Health Care: Our medical student, Dr. William Hyppolite, has graduated from medical school in the Dominican Republic and returned to serve on LaGonave. Our clinic is located in an under-served area, has been recognized by the Haiti Department of Health, and our clinic building received a new roof, additional space, and waiting area for patients. We also have a Health Center for the elderly in our school.
Women, Children, Elderly: We deliver food packets from Kids Against Hunger/Mercy Meals to elderly friends, and have a weekly feeding program for children. Our Haiti Children Christmas has delivered a meal and small toy to 1,000 children in three villages. We have tried to provide support to orphanages and women's groups who care for other women, children and the elderly.
