Our largest projects are:
Education: We've just opened a school - the Rob Marchand Education Center. We currently have students in grades 1-4 and hoping to complete the second level. Our goal is to add one grade level a year until we have grades 1-8. We have also distributed pens, pencils, notebooks 2,000 students each fall.
Health Care: Our medical student, Dr. William Hyppolite, has graduated from medical school in the Dominican Republic and returned to serve on LaGonave. Our clinic is located in an under-served area, has been recognized by the Haiti Department of Health, and our clinic building just received a new roof, additional space, and waiting area for patients.
Women, Children, Elderly: We deliver food packets from Kids Against Hunger/Mercy Meals to elderly friends, and have a weekly feeding program for children. Our Haiti Children Christmas has delivered a meal and small toy to 1,100 children in three villages. Inconsistently we have provided support to orphanages and women's groups who provide care for other women, children and the elderly.
